For einiger Zeit habe ich auf Microsoft Connect [1] einen Feedback [2] Eintrag angelegt bzgl. dem Windows Media Center. Ich finde den absolut genial, leider muss ich aber parallel zu meinem Windows Server 2008 auch mein Windows Vista laufen lassen, um auf der XBox 360 meine Videos und Bilder zu sehen, schade.
Hier mein Feedback [2] an Microsoft:
I would like to see the Windows Media Center as a role or feature in Windows Server 2008 or WHS (which is built on top of Windows Server 2003). Today we need a Vista machine to have TV on i.e. XBox 360 and a WHS (server in common) for file shares, backup, etc.
Another idea could be something like a light Win2008 server (compared to the free Hyper-V Server) that is only offering the features from WHS and the WMC.
If you enable IIS on this server you could host there a Silverlight application which is working as the Windows Media Center client. For some more details see this blog post:
